Slow Cooker Three Bear Black Bean Beer Pot

Enjoy this tasty version of baked beans.


1 package of The Art of Good Food Three Bears Black Bean Soup mix

8 slices uncooked bacon, cut into small pieces

1 cup onion, chopped

1 cup barbecue sauce

3/4 cup regular or non-alcoholic dark beer

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed


1. Quick soak and pressure cook beans as directed on the package.

2. In 10 inch skillet, cook bacon and onion over medium heat 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bacon is crisp; drain.

3.  Spray a 3 to 4 quart slow cooker with cooking spray.  In cooker, place the bacon mixture and remaining ingredients.  Mix well.

4.  Cover and cook on low setting 4 to 6 hours.
